Complete ORIGINAL twelve-page newspaper, the Chicago Tribune, dated Nov. 1, 1881. Prominent, bold inside page headlines and report on the search for Wild West outlaw Jesse James and his outlaw gang in Kentucky. At that time James was thought to be hiding out near Adairsville, Ky. Jesse Woodson James (1847-1882) was an American outlaw, the most famous member of the James-Younger Gang. Jesse James became a figure of folklore after his death. Very good condition. Rare Confederate Newspaper on Battle of Shiloh, 1862
Complete ORIGINAL single-sheet weekly Confederate Civil War newspaper, the Central Georgian, dated April 23, 1862. This is a very rare Confederate newspaper title with a front page headline and more than a full column of detailed news reports on the Battle of Shiloh (Tennessee). Confederate newspapers are much scarcer than Union Civil War newspapers and the demand for them is quite high. John Dillinger Bank Robbery Newspaper, 1934
Complete ORIGINAL 20-page newspaper, the San Francisco Chronicle, dated March 14, 1934. Prominent front page heading and breaking news report that Midwest outlaw John Dillinger has robbed a bank in Mason City, Iowa. This bank robbery took place just 10 days after Dillinger escaped from a Crown Point, Ind., jail using a fake wooden gun to bluff his way out. John Herbert Dillinger (June 22, 1903 - July 22, 1934) was an American bank robber, considered by some to be a dangerous criminal, while others idealized him as a latter-day Robin Hood. Front page heading and detailed report on the shooting death of Oklahoma outlaw Charles Pretty Boy Floyd at the hands of FBI agents led by Melvin Purvis. An inside page has prominent large photos of Floyd, his wife and son, plus Adam Richetti, Floyds partner in crime. Pretty Boy Floyd was an American bank robber and alleged killer, romanticized by the press and later by folk singer Woody Guthrie in The Ballad of Pretty Boy Floyd. Very good condition.
